In-Class Exercise: The Date

Each group has been given a number theĀ correspondsĀ to one of the numbers below. Use the statement as your implied thesis, and write a short narrative scene between two people (you can use first person). Choose the proper details and dialogue to convey the message without stating it.

  1. I like you, and I want you to like me.
  2. I am so hot, and you are lucky to be seen with me.
  3. You’re ugly, and the only reason I am doing this is so your roommate will go out with me.
  4. I want you.
  5. I love you.

You have twenty minutes to write the scene.

Remember you cannot use your thesis anywhere in the scene.
