So has anybody else on these boards read any GRRM books?  The Song of Ice and Fire series, or his Wild Cards books, or just his stand alone sci-fi books?  I have read the collection Fevre Dreams, and he is my favorite author when it comes to his fantasy.  I was just wondering about other people's opinions and comments on his writing were.

I, for one, love George's stuff.  No character is safe, and he manages POV transitions so smoothly that it looks easy...  Try writing that way once or twice and you'll see it isn't easy to do well.  I'm curious about the vampire stuff he's written, as I've only read the SOIAF stuff...
