Don’t Forget the Booze


So doped up on your medication,
      that you find yourself intertwined with another.
              Are you screaming your Lover’s name?
              Are you moaning your Enemy’s name?
Look across the gap,
      and see the people passing you by.
             Are you alone because you want to be?
             Are you alone because you have to be?
                                                Snatch up the bottle.
                               Take you meds.
                                                     Don’t forget the booze…

             Are you tasting your Lover’s warmth?
             Are you tasting your Enemy’s poison?
